The Dallas Cowboys possess the best kicker in the league in Brandon Aubrey. The former Birmingham Stallions kicker has given the Cowboys an incredible edge over the years as he can make a field goal from any distance, giving America's Team a lethal leg it can count on in crucial moments.

No distance is too big or daunting for the two-time Pro Bowl as we witnessed in Sunday’s 44-22 blowout win over Washington Commanders. Aubrey went a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals and 5-for-5 on extra points.

One of the field goals Aubrey made was from 61 yards out, which surprisingly wasn’t his longest kick this season (64 yards – Week 2 vs. the New York Giants). The 30-year-old kicker has been automatic from the 50-plus yards this season (5-for-5), making it look relatively easy, which not every kicker can do.

That said, Aubrey isn’t resting on his laurels as he told Jon Machota of The Athletic following Sunday’s game.

“I’ve set myself apart with a particular set of skills, I guess, that are hard to replicate, so I just want to keep showing that every week if I can," the Cowboys kicker said. Machota also asked the All-Pro special teamer if he has a personal field goal distance goal, and Aubrey responded with, “No, just kick the ones they put in front of me.”

Brandon Aubrey Not Worried About Personal Field Goal Record

The third-year kicker has done a good job with just doing what’s asked of him, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he sets a record either this season or next. The NFL record for the longest field goal made was 66 yards by former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker in 2021.

Coincidentally, the longest field goal made thus far in Aubrey’s career was 65 yards last season against the Ravens.

Last season, the Cowboys had Aubrey attempt a 70-yard field goal at the end of the first half against the Carolina Panthers, which would’ve been an NFL record. Even though he hooked it left, Aubrey still had the leg strength to drive it that far off a distance.

That said, it would not be surprising if the Cowboys are at an end of half situation, and bring out Aubrey to attempt a field goal from 67 yards out. It’s clear he can make it from far distances, and Dallas doesn’t look afraid to utilize him when necessary.

Therefore, the only things that could stop Aubrey from breaking the NFL’s field goal record is himself by not making it, or the Cowboys not giving him that opportunity.
