CeeDee Lamb Echos Former Teammates' Jerry Jones Frustration in Latest Cowboys Drama
By Joe Summers
The Cowboys are embroiled in yet another avoidable controversy thanks to Jerry Jones' needless dependence on attention. This time, his infamous tours of Dallas' facility while players are practicing are under fire.
After an ESPN story this week that exposed players' level of discomfort with the tours, star WR CeeDee Lamb admitted they're a distraction.
His careful word choice says it all. Jones remains the organization's biggest problem and there's no light at the end of this narrow tunnel.
CeeDee Lamb Agrees That Jerry Jones' Tours Are a Distraction
This all began with former Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz explaining that playing for the team felt like being at a zoo, frequently paraded around for the enjoyment of spectators.
Despite Jones' insistence that Dallas is "all-in" on trying to win a Super Bowl, actions speak louder than words. Unfortunately for one of the most loyal fanbases in sports, his actions prove nothing matters besides publicity.
Cowboys fans can purchase tickets to watch players practice and for the ripe price of $90, they'll even be treated to a conversation with an AI version of Jones himself. It's hilarious to anyone who doesn't cheer for the team. Based on Lamb's comments, there's no question the antics create a circus.
Dallas is 3-3 but one of the most disappointing teams in the league thus far. They've looked poorly coached, poorly inspired, and poorly led. That all falls on Jones, whose decisions routinely give the franchise a disadvantage too large to overcome.
When Lamb won't even defend you, who else will? The only path leading to a Super Bowl appearance, let alone playoff success, demands Jones sacrificing his ego. That'll never happen, so what are the Cowboys faithful supposed to do?
No group of fans deserves this disrespect, yet it'll continue for as long as Jones owns the team.
