Is it safe to say that the Dallas Cowboys are the most polarizing team in the world? It is, and if you've been thinking it for a while, you're 100 percent right.
The Cowboys are the most valuable franchise on earth, valued at $13 billion according to Forbes. The lore, the history, the legends, and the scrutiny all come with being associated with the Cowboys. They haven't won a Super Bowl in 30 years, and the hype from Cowboys fans never stops.
But Colin Cowherd on The Herd with Colin Cowherd wants to try to stop the noise entirely, as he thinks the Cowboys have lost their title as "America's Team" because they don't play in the biggest games and lose them.

Colin Cowherd says Cowboys have lost their touch as America's Team
Fair, the Cowboys have suffered back-to-back losing seasons for the first time in over two decades, but come on now. This is about as wrong as it gets for Cowherd on this one.
They don't play in big games. Colin, must we remind you that the Chiefs-Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game was the second-highest average viewership in NFL history with 57.3M viewers? Oh, and spoiler alert, the Cowboys did end up winning that game, despite Cowherd's comments.
It's another anti-Cowboys narrative that flops on itself. Of course, the Cowboys have struggled the past two seasons, but they have been in big games and have won and lost. What qualifies as a "big" game to you, Cowherd? Sunday Night Football? Monday Night Football? Thursday Night? Thanksgiving? Christmas? The Cowboys routinely play in all of those time slots.
They sometimes win or lose, but they don't lose all the time, as Cowherd was implying. The conversation also stems from the NFL Players Association’s Year-End Top 50 Player Sales List. CeeDee Lamb was the only Cowboys player on that list at No. 21.
Yeah, sure. The NFL has only grown in popularity and viewership over the past 15 years, so it's normal for the other fan bases to have grown too. This doesn't mean that the Cowboys are still the most valuable franchise in the world, even though only one Cowboys player made the list.
The Cowboys may not be the championship contender every season, or even close to it, but they don't need that to be "America's Team." That's what they're called because the team and the fan base are constantly scrutinized every season. It's the most polarizing team in the world, and fans either love them or hate them.
Despite what Cowherd says, they do play in big games, and people love to watch or "hate-watch" to see what happens. Win or lose, there's a huge reaction almost every weekend. That's why the Cowboys will always be called "America's Team."
