Cowboys Already Having Problems in Practice Right After Bye Week
By Jovan Alford
The Dallas Cowboys are already in must-win territory coming off their Week 7 bye after the last time we saw them on the field. The Cowboys got embarrassed in Week 6 in front of their home fans as the Detroit Lions won 47-9.
And now fresh off their bye, the Cowboys will go on the road to face a frustrated San Francisco 49ers team that lost last week at home to the Kansas City Chiefs. If Dallas wants to prove they are contenders in the NFC, they must put forth a better effort in primetime than we saw a couple of weeks ago at AT&T Stadium.
But before we get to Sunday night’s game, the Cowboys must put the work in on the practice field. However, head coach Mike McCarthy hasn’t been happy with what he’s seeing from his team.
According to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News, McCarthy said Wednesday some of the walkthroughs haven’t been good. The Cowboys head coach also said he has no comments on owner Jerry Jones’ thoughts about tweaking the offense.
If you are a Cowboys fan, you aren’t overly excited about the team not doing what they need to do in practice. The 2024 campaign hasn’t been a typical season for Dallas. They haven’t won a game this season at home (0-3), but they are perfect on the road (3-0).
Granted, those two road wins were against the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, but you can’t pick your schedule at the end of the day.
Nonetheless, for Dallas to win on Sunday night over the 49ers, they must iron out all their issues on both sides before kickoff.
