Cowboys Announce Big QB Injury News Before MNF Kickoff
The Dallas Cowboys are 3-6 on the season and have dropped four games in a row. The season is in a tailspin right now, as they host the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football to end the Week 11 slate of games.
A big reason the 2024 season has little hope left is that quarterback Dak Prescott is out for the season with a hamstring injury. Although it was announced on Nov. 12 that Prescott would undergo season-ending surgery, the team officially placed him on injured reserve ahead of the Monday Night Football contest.
Cowboys News: Dak Prescott is Placed on Injured Reserve
According to the Cowboys' official X page, they placed Prescott on the Reserve/Injured list and signed cornerback Josh Butler from the practice squad.
Prescott suffered a partial tendon avulsion in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Cowboys and Prescott agreed to terms on a four-year, $240 million extension ahead of Week 1, making him the highest-paid QB in the league. Unfortunately, it's been a disaster of a season and continued to get worse.
Dallas now has Cooper Rush under center with Trey Lance as QB2. Neither option is going to improve the Cowboys' chances of making the postseason this year. With these guys playing the most important position on the field, it's more likely with each passing day that this will be Mike McCarthy's final season in Dallas.
They'll look to snap their four-game skid against the Texans on Monday Night Football, but that will be a tall tale. The Cowboys are 0-4 at AT&T Stadium this season.
