Cowboys Assistant Coach Reveals He's Returning Under New Regime
The Dallas Cowboys turned their attention over to the offseason. They took some time to make some decisions at head coach but finally made the choice to part ways with Mike McCarthy.
They named Brian Schottenheimer as their 10th head coach in team history. With a new head coach in town, there has been some change among the coaching staff. Al Harris, Mike Zimmer, and John Fassel all left town.
Matt Eberflus was named as the new defensive coordinator but the Cowboys are bringing back Ramon Chinyoung Sr. as an assistant offensive line coach for the 2025 season. He announced the news on his X account.
Cowboys News: Ramon Chinyoung Sr. Will Return to Dallas in 2025
Chinyoung Sr. wrote, "As a family we are very thankful to be retuning to Dallas! Thankful for the opportunity to glorify Gods name on the largest platform! We serve an awesome God who makes no mistakes!"
He's been an assistant offensive line coach for the Cowboys since 2023 and is being brought back. Dallas was 19th in the NFL with 38 sacks allowed but that unit could use a boost next season.
Guard Zack Martin's production took a dip. He finished with a career-low 65.6 overall grade, allowing 24 pressures and five sacks. Meanwhile, Tyler Guyton struggled immensely as a rookie. In 15 games (11 starts), Guyton had a 49.4 overall grade (116th among 141 eligible tackles) and a 51.3 run-blocking grade (117th among 141 eligible tackles).
He allowed 26 pressures and six sacks. In addition, he committed 18 penalties. As for Cooper Beebe, he had a solid campaign. The Kansas State product had a 65.4 overall grade and a 66.1 run-blocking grade.
The Cowboys have a lot of moving parts, but retaining Chinyoung Sr. on the coaching staff keeps some continuity.
