The Dallas Cowboys are 3-3 on the season. They had a much-needed bye in Week 7 after they were embarrassed 47-9 at home to the Detroit Lions on Oct. 13.

The Cowboys have a pivotal NFC showdown against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football in Week 8. The pressure is continuing to pile up but Dallas has been hammered with injuries, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

EDGE Micah Parsons is one of those difference makers and head coach Mike McCarthy provided an update on Monday morning.

Cowboys News: Mike McCarthy Gave an Update on Micah Parsons

McCarthy said, "He's doing good. Micah is making progress," when talking about Parsons' ankle injury.

The Penn State product suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 4 against the New York Giants and has been recovering over the past few weeks. His initial timeline was week-to-week, giving fans hope that Parsons could suit up in Week 8.

McCarthy's answer is very vague, so fans will need to keep an eye out for the injury reports that get released throughout the week. If Parsons can practice in some kind of capacity, his chances of playing increase drastically. But if he doesn't he'll need more time to recover.

The 25-year-old's presence is missed out on the field, as he's compiled 41.5 sacks and seven forced fumbles in his career. High ankle sprains vary for each player, but Dallas and their fanbase hope to get their best defensive player back into the fold.
