The Dallas Cowboys have made a couple of additions this offseason, including Javonte Williams, Miles Sanders, Solomon Thomas, and Dante Fowler Jr. coming back to Dallas.
Outside of those additions, the Cowboys will be relying on the NFL Draft to add more talent to this roster. That's the approach they take every offseason, but they should go down a different route.
And the Cowboys should look to bring back WR Amari Cooper, who's still on the free agent market.
Amari Cooper Gives Cowboys WR Option After Free Agency Rush
Back in 2022, Dallas traded Cooper to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a 2022 fifth-round pick and a swap of 2022 sixth-round picks.
During that time, they wanted CeeDee Lamb to be the focal point of the passing attack, but they have failed to fill in the WR2 role behind him. Cooper would be a great addition to Dallas' passing attack, reuniting them with a playmaker who has success with the organization.
From 2018-2021, Cooper had 292 receptions (429 targets) for 3,983 receiving yards, and 27 touchdowns. Over his career, the Alabama product has totaled 711 catches for 10,033 receiving yards, and 64 touchdowns. He's had stops with the Las Vegas Raiders, Cleveland Browns, and Buffalo Bills but his stats with the Cowboys were the highest of any of those teams.
While Cooper may not be the same player he was during his run with the Cowboys, he's still a crafty route runner with strong hands. Dallas should look to bring him in since they have a big void at WR2.
They extended KaVontae Turpin earlier in the month. He's taken strides as a WR, but his bread and butter is being a special teams ace.
To make Dak Prescott and Lamb's life easier in 2025, bringing back a weapon like Cooper would be a big move for Dallas. The offense needs more juice and Cooper is someone who could help provide that. Especially since he had terrific chemistry with Prescott.
