Dallas Cowboys fans have little reason for concern when it comes to how the receiver depth chart will shake out. Despite having questionable depth, the franchise has put itself in elite territory, offering Dak Prescott both George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb as top targets.
While depth is still important, you can afford to have slightly less urgency in finding it as long as the duo remains healthy. With this in mind, it doesn't come as a surprise that the bulk of the Cowboys' options are bargain bin players looking to establish themselves in new roles. This included spending on former Washington Commanders receiver Kelvin Harmon.
The veteran spent the 2019-21 seasons with the Commanders before spending time in the USFL and XFL. Having failed in the NFL, the veteran had a chance to breathe life back into his career in lesser leagues. Dallas took notice of this and gave Harmon an opportunity to win a depth role. One that appears to be out of reach, as the Cowboys have cut Harmon and ended any hopes of a comeback attempt.
With the options remaining in free agency, it is hard to see any team willing to take on the struggling veteran.

Cowboys Cut Veteran WR Kelvin Harmon
If Harmon wants to continue playing, it seems either a practice squad role or joining another league is the best path forward. It is almost impossible to see another NFL team signing up for a player who couldn't make the end of the Dallas rotation. The Cowboys simply lack proven options that should've blocked Harmon from at least making it a race.
Harmon's career hasn't gone as planned and serves as a reminder of how brutal and difficult it is to make it in this league. For the Cowboys, Pickens and Lamb might take away your sense of urgency, but it wouldn't hurt to look at signing a more proven option. Free agency remains littered with receivers who have had solid careers. While the Cowboys are in a good position at the position, it could get better with a depth signing.
Dallas doesn't have to add a star to the position, already having that covered. However, signing an established player as a fourth or fifth option would help Cowboys fans feel far better about an already exciting offense. It is at least worth considering after cutting Harmon and making it clear how wide open the depth chart remains.
