Cowboys Defense Gets Amazing Injury News After Thanksgiving Win
By Jovan Alford
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off their second straight win on Thanksgiving, defeating the New York Giants 27-20. Dallas won their first game at home this season after losing their last five games at AT&T Stadium.
At 5-7, the Cowboys still have some more work to do to get into the playoff picture, but they are also getting healthy at the right time, which could give them the extra boost they need heading into December.
On Friday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan and gave a huge injury update on veteran defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence. According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, Jones said the Cowboys will “more than likely” get Lawrence back for Dallas’ next game on Dec. 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Lawrence has been out since Week 4 when he suffered a Lisfranc injury to his right foot against the New York Giants. The Cowboys placed the veteran defensive lineman on injured reserve on Oct. 1.
The Cowboys also lost star pass rusher Micah Parsons to injury in that game, but Parsons has since returned and had a huge performance on Thanksgiving (four QB hits, three total tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a tackle for loss).
Dallas is getting the 32-year-old defender back at the perfect time as rookie Marshawn Kneeland recently returned in Week 11 against the Washington Commanders. Before getting hurt in Week 4 against the Giants, Lawrence had 14 combined tackles, 10 quarterback pressures, five QB hits, and three sacks.
