After dropping a heartbreaker to the Dallas Cowboys last week, the Washington Commanders brought in one of their former draft picks. On Tuesday, the Commanders announced they signed former Cowboys defensive lineman Viliami Fehoko Jr. to their practice squad.

The Commanders have not been shy about adding former Cowboys to their roster. When former Dallas defensive coordinator Dan Quinn was named the head coach, the Commanders made it a point to sign Tyler Biadasz, Dorance Armstrong, Dante Fowler Jr., and Noah Igbinoghene in free agency.

And to no one’s surprise, all of those former Cowboys players are playing well with Quinn in the nation’s capital.

Quinn will hope to turn Fehoko Jr.’s career around, which never got off the ground in Dallas. The former San Jose State defensive lineman was released by the Cowboys ahead of the 53-man roster deadline in August.

Fehoko failed to make a notable impact in the preseason this summer as other players on the defensive line outplayed him. The Cowboys drafted the 24-year-old defensive lineman in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Fehoko had a solid collegiate career at San Jose State, posting 47 tackles for loss, 23 sacks, and five forced fumbles. However, he couldn’t do similar things with the Cowboys as he spent most of his rookie season on injured reserve.

Nonetheless, the former Cowboys defender is getting another chance to show that he belongs in the league and prove Dallas wrong for cutting him this summer.
