The Dallas Cowboys are a superstar-driven franchise. That has been the case since the Triplets brought home three Super Bowl titles in the 90s and remains the organization's approach today.

You can never have enough top-end talent on your roster when competing at the NFL level. The Cowboys showed their continued commitment to bringing in high-end talent earlier this offseason when they swung a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers for former second-round pick George Pickens.

Dallas has been connected to another high-profile veteran who is looking to find a new home within the league. However, this player makes his living on the defensive side of the ball.

Cowboys Exec Addresses Potential Blockbuster Jalen Ramsey Trade

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones met with the media on Tuesday and was asked whether there were any other moves that fans can anticipate the team making between now and the start of training camp. Jones was specifically pressed on whether there was anything to the rumors linking the team to Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey, per Jon Machota of The Athletic.

While it may just be front office speak, something we have seen time and time again whenever a rival franchise is asked about a disgruntled player seeking a trade from another team, Jones did his best to douse the flames concerning any pursuit of Ramsey.

Adding a talent like Ramsey to the roster would be a luxury for the Cowboys, as they have several talented defensive backs already under contract. With that being said, the health of Trevon Diggs will continue to be a concern until he can prove he is healthy. 2025 draft pick Shavon Revel Jr. is anything but certain to be ready to go for Week 1 as well after suffering a torn ACL during his final collegiate season at East Carolina University.

This past season, Ramsey started in all 17 games for the Dolphins and recorded 60 total tackles to go along with two interceptions and one quarterback sack. Should the Cowboys, or any other team, trade for the former first-round pick, they would likely be on the hook for all of his $16.6 million cap hit.

One way or another, Ramsey appears destined to be shipped out of Miami this summer. If the Cowboys truly have no interest in acquiring him, that is fine. If they do, however, then downplaying any interest publicly, like Jones did, will only help their cause in any negotiations that may take place down the road.
