The Dallas Cowboys enter the 2025 NFL Draft with 10 picks, including seven selections in Day 3. With that many selections, the Cowboys have the flexibility to use most of them to address various roster needs or package a couple to move up for a specific player.
Most Cowboys fans hope the team addresses the running back position this year after failing to do that last year. However, Dallas is also doing some last-minute homework on the cornerback position just days before the start of the first round.
According to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys will attend Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison’s private workout on Monday. Watkins adds that in late March, Morrison was cleared by doctors for workouts after recovering from a hip injury.
One player to watch in the draft is Notre Dame CB Benjamin Morrison. He’s having a scheduled private workout for teams today and the Cowboys will be in attendance. In late March, Morrison was cleared by doctors for workouts after recovering from a hip injury.

The Cowboys use another cornerback despite having DaRon Bland and Trevon Diggs leading the charge in the secondary. Diggs is rehabbing from left knee surgery and will likely not be ready for the start of the 2025 season.
And not to mention, the Cowboys lost veteran Jourdan Lewis in free agency, who signed a nice three-year, $30 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Therefore, the Cowboys could enter the 2025 season with Bland, Caelen Carson, and Israel Mukuamu starting at corner, which is less than ideal.
This is where a cornerback like Morrison could come into play for the Cowboys during NFL draft weekend.
The 6-foot, 193-pound defensive back is good in press-man coverage, has good quickness, and exceptional ball awareness. He doesn’t panic when the ball is in the air. Morrison could be a solid addition to Matt Eberflus’ defensive scheme, depending on how he looks in his private workout.
Over his three-year career at Notre Dame, Morrison had 84 total tackles, 27 pass deflections, 18 pass breakups, nine interceptions, 4.5 tackles for loss, and a defensive touchdown. Lance Zierlein of NFL.com projects Morrison as a second-round pick, while his project grades lean to him being an average NFL starter.
Given the current state of the Cowboys’ cornerback room, Dallas might have to consider taking a flier on the former Notre Dame defender later this week.
