The Dallas Cowboys finally snapped their long season five-game losing streak in Week 12 in thrilling fashion, defeating the Washington Commanders, 34-26.
It wasn’t an easy game for the Cowboys, who almost went to overtime after giving up an 86-yard touchdown catch to Commanders Terry McLaurin in the waning moments of the fourth quarter. However, Dallas survived thanks to a missed extra point from kicker Austin Seibert and a failed Hail Mary attempt.
The Cowboys started Cooper Rush under center for the third straight week and he played well against the Commanders. Rush completed an efficient 24-of-32 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns.
After getting lit up for five sacks against the Houston Texans in Week 11, the Cowboys' offensive line kept Rush upright as he was sacked once. Nonetheless, Dallas hopes to have a healthy Rush for their Thanksgiving matchup against the New York Giants.
According to Josh Tolentino of LoneStarLive.com, the 31-year-old quarterback was present and first up during individual drills at Tuesday’s practice. The veteran QB was listed as limited on Monday with a knee injury.

However, Rush was once again listed as limited on the injury report, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. That said, one thing to remember is Monday and Tuesday are considered walkthroughs and the practice participations are an estimation.

Therefore, Cowboys fans shouldn’t worry about Rush starting against the Giants. If Rush gets downgraded after Wednesday’s practice, it might be time to panic.
The Cowboys are still a long way from being in the playoff picture in the NFC. But if they can pick up their second consecutive win over a division rival to end the month, it could give them a lift going into December.
