The Dallas Cowboys are 1-2 on the season after a disappointing loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 3. In the process, they lost WR CeeDee Lamb, whose ankle got pinned under Bears LB Noah Sewell on a reserve in the first quarter.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Monday morning that it's believed that Lamb has a high-ankle sprain. He will get an MRI and more testing done to see the severity of the injury, but high-ankle sprains typically take four to six weeks to heal.

Owner Jerry Jones believes this injury isn't as bad as it originally seemed, but nonetheless, this is a blow to the Cowboys team.

Without Lamb, the Cowboys were able to finish with 396 total yards of offense but only mustered 14 points. Tight end Jake Ferguson led the team in catches (13) and receiving yards (82) in the loss. George Pickens had five catches for 68 yards and a touchdown, but he had a pass bounce off his hands and end in a Tremaine Edmunds interception.

The Cowboys were run off the field, in large part due to the defense, but the absence of Lamb isn't ideal. They have the Green Bay Packers coming into town for a primetime battle on Sunday Night Football in Week 4.

In the first two games of the season, Lamb went over 100 receiving yards and seemed poised for another big-time season. His connection with Dak Prescott is very evident, but the Cowboys need to brace themselves to be without their star playmaker for the next couple of weeks.

In the next four games, Dallas plays the Packers, Jets, Panthers, and Commanders. On paper, they should be able to handle business against the New York and Carolina in this stretch, but you never know. Things can happen on any given Sunday, and Dallas is already behind the curve with its 1-2 record.

Philadelphia is 3-0, and the Commanders are 2-1. Dallas can't afford to stack up losses and will need everyone to turn things up a notch, with Lamb slated to be sidelined for a while. It's still great news that he will get a chance to return to the season but any missed time isn't fun when it comes to No. 88.

Everyone's job on offense got harder with the most pressure being on Brian Schottenheimer, Prescott, and Pickens.
