The Dallas Cowboys went into the offseason looking to revamp their defense, and at the center of it all is new defensive coordinator Christian Parker. A former defensive backs coach with the Philadelphia Eagles, Parker will take over a defensive group that struggled under Matt Eberflus last offseason and has wasted no time putting his stamp on his new unit.

While there have already been several additions to the Cowboys’ defense this offseason, there could be more on the way, including former Eagles cornerback Adoree’ Jackson. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Jackson is visiting Dallas on Tuesday and had a significant role under Parker with 10 starts last season.

Jackson’s recent resume isn’t the best, and he may no longer be the player he was at the beginning of his career. But the Cowboys’ interest shows Parker is continuing to add some Eagles flavor to Dallas in hopes of turning the group around in 2026.

Adoree’ Jackson’s FA Visit Could Stabilize Cowboys’ Secondary

Jackson joined the Eagles as a free agent last offseason and competed with Kelee Ringo for a starting outside cornerback job. While he beat out Ringo at the beginning of the year, his performance didn’t allow him to keep the job, ultimately letting up 47 catches for 552 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, six pass breakups, and a penalty on 73 targets, according to Pro Football Focus.

The 2025 season also included a concussion in a Week 7 win over the Minnesota Vikings, a groin injury earlier in the season, and a head injury suffered in a Week 12 loss to the Cowboys, and it didn’t stop the Eagles from adding Michael Carter II and Jaire Alexander at the trade deadline for reinforcements.

With that in mind, it’s not shocking the Eagles haven’t brought him back. But with his previous experience working with Jackson, it may have been enough to believe he’s an upgrade over what the Cowboys have at cornerback.

DaRon Bland is expected to man one of the outside cornerback spots, but the second one is wide open. While Shavon Revel Jr. was considered a steal after being taken in the third round of last year’s draft, his return from a torn ACL didn’t go as planned, leading the Cowboys to sign Cobie Durant this offseason. 2026 fourth-round pick Devin Moore also joined the team, but adding a veteran could tie it all together.

Expecting Jackson to become a shutdown corner in Dallas would be a stretch. But he could be serviceable enough to improve a pass defense that allowed the highest net yards (7.2) per attempt in the NFL last season.

With that, Jackson is a worthy flier and someone who could help Parker establish his system with the Cowboys.
