The Dallas Cowboys swung a trade for George Pickens this past week, giving America's Team a legitimate 1-2 threat on the outside with the former Georgia Bulldogs standout lining up alongside CeeDee Lamb.
While there don't appear to be any other massive moves like the acquisition of Pickens on the horizon, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones certainly didn't stop any speculation that Dallas could be looking to add even more impact players ahead of the 2025 campaign.
"Never done," Jones said. "I think I've said it forever, 365 days a year is player acquisition. Certainly, if we see something that improves our football team, we'll make a move."
Stephen Jones Says Cowboys Aren’t Done Making Moves
Jones is absolutely right about talent acquisition being an everyday job in the NFL, as you never truly know what your roster will face next. The Cowboys have always worked to be aggressive and ahead of the curve when it comes to roster management, and that approach does not appear to be changing anytime soon.
Sometimes, the most important acquisitions aren't the flashiest ones either. Having the right personalities to go along with their respective skill sets can help build a cohesive locker room, and that is as important as anything throughout a 17-week season.
With OTAs and training camp on the horizon, it will be interesting to see which veterans may not last on other teams. Should their potential fit in Dallas be one that Jones and the rest of the front office deem beneficial to the Cowboys, we could see more new faces on the way sooner rather than later.
After a 2024 campaign that fell short of expectations due to injury issues, everyone in the organization, as well as its fans, is ready to see Dallas return to prominence within the NFC and make it so that teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders are looking up at them in the standings.
