The Dallas Cowboys have had a desperate need to find anything close to a capable rushing attack. Last season, this led the team to an ill-fated reunion with former franchise star Zeke Elliott. When this ended as expected, Dallas was left searching for answers, turning to Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders as potential starters.

While Williams is listed as the current number one option, the franchise is far from decided on which direction they will go. Training camp and the preseason will go a long way in deciding who wins an underwhelming battle.

A strong training camp from Sanders should be enough to shake up the depth chart when you consider the current options. Both players were highly thought of starters who regressed and were demoted to lesser roles.

Dallas has the advantage of being familiar with Sanders' potential, having played the back during his best seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. While Philly has found an obvious upgrade in Saquon Barkley, there is reason to wonder if there is something left in the tank for Sanders.

Cowboys Are Handing Miles Sanders One Last Chance

It is time for Sanders to take advantage of the opportunity and claim back a starting job. The struggles could be shrugged off as a product of playing with a hopeless Carolina Panthers team. Bryce Young hardly does a great job setting up the run game, and the Panthers are still searching for weapons to help establish the inconsistent young quarterback.

If there was ever a situation that is going to give Sanders a starting role at this level once again, it is Dallas. The Cowboys offer the advantage of a solid offensive line and an incredible receiving duo that demands attention. With CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens haunting opposing teams, the table is going to be set for whoever wins the starting role.

Sanders needs to begin his push in training camp, proving that the struggles have been put behind him. The Cowboys badly need to see someone separate themselves and give the team a reason to believe it has an answer. The former division rival has that opportunity starting with this week's camp.
