The last couple of months have seen a lot of movement on the Dallas Cowboys roster. They were able to use free agency, the NFL draft, and trades to improve the team for the 2025 season.
In March, Dallas signed DT Solomon Thomas to a two-year deal that is worth up to $8 million. Despite being in the Lone Star State for three months, he's been getting mistaken for quarterback Dak Prescott.
When speaking to the media on Thursday, he said, "I've been recognized as Dak Prescott more than anybody else in my life so I get that a couple times a day. At the airport, me and my girlfriend were coming back from California this weekend, and like, a couple of people came up to me, asked for autographs and I was like yeah sure. They were like double-checking, are you Dak? I said no I'm sorry I'm not Dak. But some people probably taken photos thinking I'm Dak and posted the photo and realized that some friend told him that's not Dak."
Solomon Thomas Has Been Mistaken for Dak Prescott in Public
This is something funny happening behind the scenes. It's Thomas' first few months in Dallas, while Prescott has been around for the last nine years. Regardless of that timeframe, some fans are still making that mistake.
No shade to Thomas, but when those fans realized it wasn't Prescott, they probably walked away disappointed. Although he was the third overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft, Thomas has supplied 212 total tackles, 33 TFLs, and 18.5 sacks in his career. He's a depth option along the defensive front.
Meanwhile, Prescott is one of the top signal-callers in the league, tossing 31,437 yards with 213 passing touchdowns. In addition, he is a three-time Pro Bowler.
Of course, fans are looking to take a picture with the quarterback of America's Team, but it's hilarious that they thought Thomas was Prescott.
And it sounds like something that won't stop for the foreseeable future.
