The Dallas Cowboys are 3-2 entering Week 6. Last week on Sunday Night Football, the Cowboys went on the road and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-17.

They have won two straight games and are seeking to keep the positive momentum going. While they are looking to handle business on the football field, it's been reported that the Dallas Cowboys are no longer interested in trading for an All-Pro WR.

Cowboys News: Cowboys Out on Davante Adams

Per Tashan Reed of The Athletic, the Cowboys are no longer in the running to trade for receiver Davante Adams.

"The Dallas Cowboys also called about the six-time Pro Bowler, but they passed, per league sources, because they don’t want to take on the remainder of his base salary this season, which is about $12.5 million. "

That is an interesting decision since they have $22.5 million available in cap room per Overthecap.

The Cowboys are already without Brandin Cooks for a few weeks after he underwent knee surgery. I understand they just handed CeeDee Lamb a massive four-year, $136 million deal to make him the second-highest-paid WR in the NFL but passing on a chance to acquire Adams is foolish.

Adams has two years remaining on his deal, with a $44 million cap hit in 2025 and 2026 but it's non-guaranteed. That means Dallas could move on from him after the season if they wanted to, with no financial responsibility.

The Cowboys already messed up this offseason by not signing running Derrick Henry. With the rushing attack not being productive, this was the perfect opportunity to improve the aerial attack and form one of the top 1-2 punches in the league.

Imagine defenses having to defend both Lamb and Adams? That would keep defensive coordinators up at night but that's not something that Jerry Jones and company want to do.

They are constantly saying they are looking to be Super Bowl contenders but their actions show the opposite. Dallas had another chance to improve the roster but they are deciding to pass.

We'll just have to wait and see if they regret this decision later on in the year.
