After getting hammered at home by the Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans over the last two weeks, the Dallas Cowboys went on the road to play the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
Heading into Sunday’s Week 12 matchup, the Cowboys were without cornerbacks Trevon Diggs and Caelen Carson, which seemed to bode well for the Commanders’ offense. Diggs was a late addition to the injury report with groin/knee injuries.
The Pro Bowl cornerback was given the limited tag for the last two days of practice before being ruled out. After Sunday’s win over the Commanders, Diggs gave an update on his injury and if he could play on Thanksgiving.
According to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News, Diggs has been dealing with a calf injury for three weeks and hopes to play against the New York Giants.
Trevon Diggs said he’s been dealing with a groin injury for three weeks. That’s the biggest reason why he couldn’t play Sunday. Hopes to play vs Giants.

It hasn’t been an easy season for Diggs, who is also dealing with a tear in his calf, which was reported earlier this month by owner Jerry Jones.

Between a groin injury and a tear in his calf, it's not surprising that Diggs didn’t play on Sunday after playing the last few weeks. With it being a short week, Dallas would love to have him on the field.
However, the Cowboys aren’t in a position to try and get guys back on the field as they are still three games below .500. This season, the star cornerback has played well, possessing a 57.8 completion percentage allowed on targets and an 83.9 pass rating allowed when targeted.
Diggs has allowed three receiving touchdowns, but he’s recorded 37 combined tackles, eight pass deflections, and two interceptions in 10 games.
