The Dallas Cowboys have a big 2025 season coming their way. They made a splash on the trade market last week when they acquired WR George Pickens. Dallas wasted no time hyping up their new addition.

While the Cowboys are gearing up for the new season, guard Tyler Smith decided to switch agents. Per Calvin Watkins, Smith is joining Athletes First and will have Joe Panos and Todd France as his representation.

Tyler Smith Change Agents Ahead of 2025 Season

Smith is heading into the fourth year of his rookie deal, and Dallas has already exercised his fifth-year option. Ever since being drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft, Smith has been a stalwart upfront for Dallas.

He's secured two Pro Bowl appearances and a second-team All-Pro nod in 2023. Smith has posted a higher than 70 overall and run blocking grade per PFF in his first three NFL seasons.

Last season, he finished with a 75 overall grade (22nd among 136 graded guards), a 76 pass blocking grade (14th among 136 graded guards), and a 73.8 run-blocking grade (21st among 136 graded guards). He only allowed four hits and two sacks.

The 24-year-old even showed the versatility to play left tackle, and he's due for a monster payday. Kansas City Chiefs guard Trey Smith will be the highest-paid guard in the league next season ($23.4 million) after getting hit with the franchise tag. Chris Lindstrom of the Falcons and Robert Hunt of the Panthers both make $20 million a year.

The market is high, and Smith is looking to cash in. Going over to the same agent as Dak Prescott is a very smart idea. Just last year, Prescott got a four-year, $240 million extension that included $231 million fully guaranteed and a whopping $80 million signing bonus.

France knows how to strike a massive deal and did that with Prescott. He'll soon be at the negotiating table with the Jones family, but this time he'll be looking to strike a deal for Smith.

He's one of the top players at the position and will look to become the highest-paid guards in the league.
