The Dallas Cowboys have been crushed by the injury bug this season, losing multiple starters on defense, including Micah Parsons. On Sunday, the injury bug showed up once again for the Cowboys as starting quarterback Dak Prescott went down against the Atlanta Falcons.

Prescott suffered a hamstring injury late in the second half and did not return. Before exiting the game with the injury, the veteran quarterback completed 18-of-24 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown. He also had 30 rushing yards and was sacked three times.

Backup Cooper Rush took over for Prescott in the fourth quarter, completing 13-of-25 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown. After the game, the veteran quarterback limped off the field, which isn’t a good sign.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones provided his thoughts on Prescott’s injury. Jones told reporters he is "concerned," according to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News.

Prescott spoke with the media after the six-point loss to the Falcons about his injury. According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, the veteran quarterback said "I felt something pull. I felt something I’ve never felt."

If you are a Cowboys fan, this is the last thing you want to hear as the team has already been ravaged by injury on both sides of the ball. Dallas can ill-afford to lose the starting quarterback for a considerable amount of time.

The Cowboys’ schedule this month isn’t easy as they still have to play the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders, and the New York Giants.

If Prescott doesn’t practice this coming week and isn’t ready to play, Rush will be the starter and Trey Lance will be the backup.
