The Dallas Cowboys face a critical offseason after a miserable 2024 campaign that saw an organization that won three 12 games in three straight years fall out of the playoff picture entirely.
Brian Schottenheimer is now the head coach to fans' chagrin, though he's got a quality roster that should compete for a postseason spot barring injury. That said, WR CeeDee Lamb needs a more suitable running mate, particularly with the potential departure of Brandin Cooks over the coming months.
In a surprising turn of events, the Cowboys have reportedly become threats to pull off a trade for an All-Pro wideout following the trade of Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders.

Cowboys Emerge as Possible Cooper Kupp Suitor After Deebo Samuel Trade
According to Dan Graziano of ESPN, the Cowboys are expected to be interested in Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp should his price drop far enough. Since Kupp already revealed that the Rams intend to trade him, the theoretical leverage seems to be decreasing by the day. If Kupp could be had for a mid-round pick, he's the perfect complement to Lamb and could transform this Dallas offense.
"The Cowboys will be in the market for a No. 2 receiver," writes Graziano. "They could end up being a Cooper Kupp suitor if his price drops far enough. Dallas also will look to add a dynamic player at running back to pair with Rico Dowdle, who finished the season strong for them."
Kupp hasn't played more than 12 games for three straight seasons due to injury, but is still one of the NFL's best receivers when he's healthy. He caught 67 passes for 710 yards and six TDs in 2024 in only 12 games, which would've still been the second-highest receiving total on the team last year.
Pairing Kupp with Lamb would give the Cowboys a receiver core that could compete with the Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, and the other marquee teams in the NFC. If Dallas wants to get over the hump and compete for a Super Bowl, these are the types of risks you need to take.
It's clear that the front office wants to improve the offense and Kupp could be a quick-fix solution to help accomplish that goal.
