Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott believes the Cowboys are in the same tier as the Philadelphia Eagles, who beat the Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22 in Super Bowl 59.
On Tuesday, Prescott spoke with reporters at the Children’s Cancer Fund gala announcement and didn’t mince words when discussing the Cowboys’ chances of getting and winning a Super Bowl, per ESPN's Todd Archer.

"I feel like we’ve competed with the Eagles and beat them for the most part when we’ve played them. I don’t want to say, ‘Check the record,’ when the other guy’s is holding the trophy, right. So credit to them.Cowboys QB Dak Prescott
They’ve earned it and they deserve it by all means, but yeah, very close. Especially even watching the NFC Championship and those two teams, teams that we battle against each and every year a couple of times. As I said I feel confident that we’ve gotten the better part each and every time. But just seeing a dominating fashion, credit to them. It’s our turn and it’s on us."
If you are a Dallas fan, you like Prescott expressing the utmost confidence in his team and letting it be known that the Cowboys are up there with the Eagles and Commanders.
The Cowboys fell on hard times this season, finishing in third place in the NFC East with a 7-10 record after winning the division in 2022.
However, when healthy, the Cowboys are in the playoff discussion, with Prescott leading the way from under center. That said, Jerry Jones and the rest of the Cowboys’ brass need to get busy and upgrade the roster this offseason.
The Eagles have done a good job of building their roster through free agency and the draft, which has helped them get to the Super Bowl twice in the last three years. The Cowboys need to follow the same game plan.
They must find instant-impact players in the trenches in the NFL draft and build out from there. As for free agency, Jones cannot be shy about going out and competing for the top players.
The Eagles knew they needed an upgrade at running back and struck gold with the FA signing of Saquon Barkley. The Cowboys were in a similar spot this past offseason and decided to go after Ezekiel Elliott.
This offseason, the Cowboys have a need at WR2, with Brandin Cooks being an unrestricted free agent. There’s no reason why Jones and the Cowboys shouldn’t be trying to trade for Cooper Kupp and Deebo Samuel or trying to sign Stefon Diggs in free agency.
Prescott has given Jones the playbook for the Cowboys’ offseason. Now, it’s time for the front office to execute.
