The Dallas Cowboys were one of six teams to hire a new head coach this offseason. Of those six teams, Dallas was one of the last three to hire their new head coach. That said, the New Orleans Saints were the final team to fill their head coaching vacancy, as they hired Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.
Moore was formerly a part of the Cowboys organization as a player and a coach from 2015-2022. As a result, he has connections with many former Dallas coaches, so it's no surprise that Moore looked to some of those connections to finish filling out his coaching staff in New Orleans.
According to Nick Underhill, the Saints are hiring Scott Linehan to be part of their staff. Linehan was on the Cowboys coaching staff from 2014-2018, meaning he was with Moore for a good bit of his tenure in Dallas.

Linehan has a ton of experience. He was the HC of the Rams. An OC for Minnesota, Miami, Detroit, Dallas. Pass game coordinator for LSU. Most recently worked as an offensive analyst for Montana.
Saints' Hire Former Cowboys Staffer Scott Linehan
Linehan began his tenure with the Cowboys in 2014 as the team's passing game coordinator. That season, the Cowboys had a middle-of-the-pack passing attack, ranking 15th with 4,008 yards. While Linehan was part of the Cowboys in 2014, Moore didn't join the Cowboys until 2015 as a backup quarterback.
By that time, Linehan was the offensive coordinator, meaning the two interacted frequently. The relationship they built as a player and coach likely became stronger after Moore became quarterbacks coach in 2018. As offensive coaches, the two certainly spent lots of time together in 2018, talking about how to help the quarterback.
While their career paths split after the 2019 season, they clearly kept in contact. Seeing as neither of the two are in the NFC East, Dallas fans wish these two the best until the Saints and Cowboys meet.
Hopefully, Linehan and Moore don't combine forces to make Dallas pay down the line.
