2024 - Tyler Guyton, Offensive Tackle (29th Overall)

Tyler Guyton is perhaps the most difficult player on this list to evaluate due to only having one year of professional experience, but so far it has been poor.

Guyton was a big part in why the Cowboys struggled mightily in 2024 to establish any sort of effective run game, and also had penalty struggles, which drives us fans nuts. I would be lying to say I am a fan of Guyton, or a fan of the pick, but I do think it is too early to give up on the young tackle.

According to Cowboys writer Patrik Walker, Guyton will stay at left tackle for this upcoming season. This is not music to my ears, and actually makes me fear having to watch a second straight year with a bad run game. But all that to say, I really hope Guyton can emerge under Conor Riley and this new Cowboys coaching staff as at least an average tackle that will allow us to address other needs without having to find a replacement just a short time after drafting him.

Even though Guyton was a late first-round pick, the talent drafted after him is painful to look back on, knowing what we could have had.

Future Outlook

Reflecting on these past 5 years brings both excitement and fear for this upcoming draft and the possibilities for what could be to come. Will we see another star emerge from pick No. 12 like Lamb and Parsons? Or will we see another wasted pick as our rivals only get better and better?

All we can do is place our hope in this new coaching regime as we yell at our TV's on draft night.
