While Dak Prescott suffering a partial hamstring avulsion was the loss that was discussed the most, the Dallas Cowboys faced several impactful injuries on both sides of the ball during the 2024 season.
One of those key injuries came in Week 14, as when former Texas Longhorns standout DeMarvion Overshown tore the ACL, MCL, and PCL in his right knee. With this severe of an injury coming at such a late stage in the regular season, there was plenty of concern regarding just when Overshown would be healthy enough to return to the field for 2025.
However, that prognosis changed to a slightly more favorable timeline for his potential return following surgery. Now, Overshown is sharing more positive news with Cowboys fans as we inch closer to the start of training camp.
Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown Gives Encouraging Update on Recovery
Overshown shared over the weekend that he will be able to rejoin his teammates at some point this season. In a post shared via Instagram, Overshown made it known that team doctors have confirmed as much before thanking them for all the help they have provided during his recovery thus far.

Getting Overshown back at any stage of the regular season would be a major boost for the Cowboys on the defensive side of things. This past season, the former third-round pick appeared in 14 games for Dallas and put up the kind of numbers you'd expect from a player drafted higher than the third round: 90 total tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble, one interception, and one touchdown scored.
If Overshown can successfully return to that level of production, it would be a testament to his work ethic and the plan that the Cowboys' medical team had for his rehabilitation. Dallas fans will be eagerly anticipating that date, whenever it comes.
