Jadeveon Clowney hasn't even suited up for a game yet as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, but he is already making headlines for the wrong reasons off the field.

While the news that Clowney was arrested in his hometown of Rock Hill, SC last week will certainly draw attention to him and the Cowboys ahead of their Week 3 showdown with the Chicago Bears, the former No. 1 overall pick has already gone out of his way to fully explain the incident and reassure fans in the Lone Star State that this is nothing to worry about.

Clowney was arrested on misdemeanor charges of trespassing and failure to identify for parking his car in a closed parking lot after being told he was not allowed to do so. According to Clowney, via NBC Sports, this frustrating incident was all a "big misunderstanding" as he was attempting to park his car at the Dunbar Place Apartments, where his aunt lives, to attend a high school football game. Instead, he was detained for roughly 20 minutes by the police for parking his car in that lot.

“If you know anything about South Carolina, where I am from,” Clowney said, via Clarence Hill of All City DLLS. “It’s been going on my whole life down there. It ain’t nothing new. I’m here now. I ain’t even there.”

Cowboys fans never want to see one of their favorite team's players have to deal with things like this away from the field. While Clowney plans to fight this arrest, the more we learn about what really happened here, the less concerns fans in Dallas should have about the newest addition to the defensive front.

Whether Clowney is in uniform and available to play this weekend remains uncertain for reasons not related to this incident. Regardless of when it comes, the former South Carolina Gamecocks standout is ready to make a difference for the Cowboys' defense. If anything, his frustrations from the situation in his hometown could only add fuel to the fire once he can get onto the field and do what he does best: attack the opposition's quarterback.
