The Dallas Cowboys have experienced many changes along the team. There have been movements along the roster and coaching staff but the Cowboys need to still make some additions to improve their floor in 2025.

The NFL Draft is two weeks away and that will allow Dallas to add more talent to the roster. One area of weakness for the Cowboys is at wide receiver.

The Cowboys are bringing in different prospects for pre-draft visits and one of those guys was Texas WR Matthew Golden. Golden posted a picture on Instagram of himself with Jerry Jones. The caption was "Dat man."

Matthew Golden Visits Cowboys for Pre-Draft Visit

The Cowboys have a big void at WR2 opposite CeeDee Lamb and Golden could be someone who is an exciting addition. The 21-year-old is one of the best receiver prospects in this class. According to Dane Brugler of The Athletic's draft guide, he was Golden ranked as the No. 2 WR in this class.

Golden is a fluid mover in and out of his breaks with natural ball-tracking skills. He spent the first two years of his collegiate career before transferring to the University of Texas. Last season with the Longhorns, he had 58 catches for 987 yards and nine touchdowns.

Golden is one of the most athletic players at his position in the draft and has the ability to create chuck plays downfield. He posted at least 20 yards per catch in 10 of his 16 games in 2024. His versatility to play every receiver position on offense is another underrated factor.

The Cowboys own the No. 12 overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. That puts them in the ballpark to select Golden if they want. Dallas clearly liked what they had seen on tape and decided they wanted to speak with him some more to either clarify a doubt they had or get to know the player better.

The NFL Draft is going to be interesting and Cowboy fans will be on the edge of their seat to see who will be brought down to the Lone Star State.
