Dallas Cowboys fans look forward to Jerry Jones speaking to the media and giving his insight on the offseason thus far. That also started with a loose cannon when discussing Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby, one of the best pass rushers in the game.
It's been months, and the Cowboys still haven't made a move for Crosby. At one point, they were rumored to have Trey Hendrickson and Myles Garrett on their radar, but nothing actually happened. Now, Hendrickson and Garrett have found new teams, only to the misery of Cowboys fans once again.
When Jones was asked about "walking away" after Crosby's failed physical with the Baltimore Ravens, he gave a long pause, and then said, "We didn't."

Awkward silence with the owner of the Dallas Cowboys is almost like time standing still. He was immediately asked to elaborate on that comment.
"No, no because there's nothing more to elaborate about, but, we did not walk away," Jones said.
This could mean either one of two things. This could mean the Cowboys are still in pursuit, considering Jones also said he's leaving the door open to a move of a "substantive" nature. That could mean Crosby, but who knows?
It could also mean that Jones didn't walk away and pursued Crosby shortly after his physical failed, but no one could snatch him up.
Jones is reigniting the spark that Cowboys fans once had, but how realistically can they still get Crosby? They had two first-rounders, but decided to use those resources in the draft, and they honestly should stick with the group they have now.
With the future of George Pickens still up for grabs after 2026, the Cowboys could move Pickens and a first-rounder for Crosby. Pickens became a first-time All-Pro last season, but the defense could still be holding things back. That's a "substantive" move that could break the league if done right.
We should see how this defense looks before the deadline, then decide whether Jones should make a home run trade addition. The Crosby talks have lingered for too long at this point, and if it doesn't happen by the 2027 offseason, don't expect much to happen.
Fans have been begging Jones to get a big-time player via trade or the offseason, but sometimes we forget that the Cowboys got Quinnen Williams last season. Mazi Smith, a defensive tackle who was the Cowboys' 2023 first-round pick, was shipped off to the New York Jets.
This was a huge turnaround, and we'll get to see Williams, a four-time Pro Bowler, take the field for a full season.
Jones may be keeping the Crosby dream alive, but it's likely a long way away from happening anyway.
