The Dallas Cowboys are 3-3, as they have a bye this week. This gives them time to rest and recover as they look to bounce back starting in Week 8.

It has not been an exciting first few weeks of the season in Dallas, in large part to the defense. They are 24th in the league in total defense (356.3) but 30th in scoring defense (28). They have been slammed by injuries to key difference-makers but that unit needs to pick it up.

On Thursday, a Pro Bowl defender was released and he could an ideal target for Dallas.

NFL News: Jamal Adams is Released

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Tennessee Titans are releasing safety Jamal Adams. He joined the Titans in July after he was released by the Seattle Seahawks.

The LSU product asked to be released by Tennessee, and they honored his wishes. Schefter added that Adams is healthy and is looking toward his next chance. And Dallas should at least inquire about the 29-year-old.

He's not the same player he was earlier in his career with the New York Jets but he could be worth adding to this defense. Adams is a Texas native and Dallas had an interest in trading for him before he was sent to Seattle in 2020.

In his career, he has secured 498 total tackles, 50 TFLs, and 42 QB hits. Adams has only played in 20 total snaps in 2024, which was a major reason he wanted a change of scenery.

The Cowboys' defense has been a major disappointment this season, so adding Adams is worth a conversation. He was a three-time Pro Bowler from 2018-2020.
