Latest Update is Grim Regarding Dak Prescott’s Injury
This season has been a complete disaster for the Dallas Cowboys. They are sitting with a 3-5 record after eight games and have a divisional tilt against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
In the Week 9 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Prescott suffered a hamstring injury and is slated to miss an extended period of time. The Cowboys have handed over the starting duties to Cooper Rush.
Prescott underwent an MRI to determine the severity of his injury and the update is bad news for Dallas fans.
Cowboys News: Dak Prescott Has a Partial Avulsion of His Hamstring Tendon
Jane Slater of NFL Network revealed that the first diagnosis of Prescott's injury is a partial avulsion of his hamstring tendon, and it's basically torn off the bone.
The recovery for this type of injury can range from six weeks to six months. Jerry Jones said that Prescott will likely land on IR but they didn't officially do that as the 31-year-old seeks additional opinions.
The Cowboys have nine games left on their schedule, but their opponents continue to get harder. Over the next five weeks, Dallas plays the Eagles, Texans, Commanders, and Bengals. There's a real chance that the season is over in the next couple of matchups.
The fact that Prescott's injury is worse than originally anticipated isn't what the Cowboys needed. It actually puts Dallas in a bigger hole, and they'll have to save their season with the $60 million quarterback on the sideline.
They're on a three-game skid and play an Eagles team that has won four games in a row. It continues to get worse for Dallas in 2024.
