The Dallas Cowboys will be looking to add a differencemaker in next month’s draft and they’ll have plenty of options with the 12th overall pick. Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty has long been connected to the Cowboys but he may not be available when the Cowboys are on the clock. Dallas could also tab Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan to give CeeDee Lamb a viable partner or take Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron to help its ailing secondary.
But while the Cowboys could stay local with their first-round pick, there’s another prospect that makes sense. And it includes a prospect who had some comments about teaming up with Micah Parsons as a cornerstone of the Dallas defense.
Texas A&M DL Shemar Stewart will take a 30-visit with the Dallas Cowboys next week. It’s one of many for him.

Cowboys Draft Target Shemar Stewart Says It Would Be ‘Crazy’ Teaming With Micah Parsons
Texas A&M defensive tackle Shemar Stewart is one player the Cowboys will have on their radar in the first round of next month’s draft. During his pro day workout on Thursday, Stewart revealed that he will be part of the team’s top 30 visits next week and expressed excitement on the idea of having Parsons as a teammate.
“Obviously, I have to go through the learning curve,” Stewart said. “There’s going to be a big, major learning curve going from college to the pros. So I just have to sit back and take some notes from him. And also, if we get together, it could be a crazy 1-2 punch on the [defensive line.]”
Stewart has been a prospect on the rise during his three seasons with the Aggies. His Pro Football Focus grade increased from 46.3 in his freshman year to 79.5 last season. He also logged 39 pressures on 315 pass-rushing snaps (12.3% pressure rate) while making 31 total tackles, six tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and two pass deflections.
The cherry on top came at the NFL combine when Stewart posted a 9.99 Relative Athletic Score, grading him third out of 1,802 defensive end prospects since 1987.
The Cowboys signed veteran Dante Fowler Jr. in free agency to team with Parsons but Stewart would be a younger alternative. If the Cowboys make the pick, the 21-year-old could take a year to learn behind Fowler or mix in along the defensive line to make an impact in his rookie season. Regardless, Stewart’s enthusiasm to learn from one of the best could help Dallas make his prophecy a reality.
