Micah Parsons Admits He Doesn't Care About the Cowboys' Playoff Chances
By Jovan Alford
The Dallas Cowboys still have a small chance to make the playoffs, but they need to continue to win and get help from other teams. Dallas has won three out of their last four games, including two wins over the Washington Commanders and New York Giants.
However, the Cowboys (6-8) are still two games out from the seventh seed in the NFC playoffs. Dallas can keep its playoff hopes alive with a win at home over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Cowboys' playoff hopes are sunk, if Dallas loses to Tampa Bay on Sunday night. The Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders are set to play on Sunday afternoon. But if the Eagles lose to the Commanders, Dallas is in trouble.
Most Cowboys fans don’t like the idea of their playoff hopes being tied to the Eagles and star pass rusher Micah Parsons feels the same way. On Thursday, Parsons told reporters he isn’t rooting for the Eagles and sent some shots at the Philadelphia fanbase.
"Nah, at this point, it’s f— Philly, now. Even if we got eliminated, like, I gotta crush Philly. F— them. I hate them now. I be seeing them talk so much on social (media). "
- Micah Parsons
Cowboys fans on social media loved to see this type of response from the star pass rusher, even if it means Dallas gets potentially eliminated from the playoffs.
The 2024 season has been one to forget for the Cowboys as they went from NFC East champs last year to possibly not being in the playoffs this season. Most Dallas fans likely want the team to focus on improving its first-round pick to land an impact player in the 2025 NFL Draft.
At the same time, hearing Parsons go hard at the Eagles, who they will face next week in Philly doesn’t seem like the best thing to do. The Eagles-Commanders game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, so the Cowboys will know if they are eliminated from playoff contention before kicking off their game on Sunday night against Tampa Bay.
