The Dallas Cowboys are waiting for the season to end, so they get into the offseason. The Cowboys are 6-8 on the season but their chances of making the playoffs are slim to none.

Heading into the season, Dallas had questions to answer regarding Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb's contracts. The Cowboys eventually caved in and paid both of these top-of-the-market deals.

Micah Parsons waited patiently for his time to come, and those contract negotiations will go down over the next couple of months. There have also been rumors circulating that the Cowboys should trade Parsons and Dallas EVP Stephen Jones added to the fuel with a comment.

He said, "Obviously we're totally all in on Dak and CeeDee. But after that, then you still shape things, including Micah. But Micah's a great player. You don't do well in this league letting guys like Micah, usually, leave the house."

Instead of shutting down the trade narrative completely, he left things up for interpretation. And now Jerry Jones had to clarify the statements.

Cowboys News: Jerry Jones Talks About Stephen’s Comments on Micah Parsons

Jerry stated, "He did not in any way say that Micah Parsons was an issue looking ahead at the future... that's never been uttered in this organization that we don't have a future with Micah Parsons."

The 82-year-old wanted to make it clear about the team's intention about their best player. Parsons has been a game-wrecker since stepping into the league, logging 245 total tackles and 49 career sacks.

He's finished with double-digit sacks in three straight seasons and has a chance to increase that to four campaigns in 2024.

Nick Bosa is the highest-paid defensive player in the league after inking a five-year, $170 million deal ($34 million). Parsons will look to surpass that number, and he has the numbers to warrant that kind of money. We'll have to see if the Cowboys hand out that kind of cash to him. Parsons wants to stick around in Dallas for the long haul but at the end of the day, money talks.
