The Dallas Cowboys held their first practice on Tuesday at Staybridge Suites in California. Players were able to get some reps in and start preparing for an intense 2025 season.
It was the first time that Dallas saw all their new additions on the field, and WR George Pickens couldn't hold back his excitement. Following Tuesday's practice, Pickens spoke to the media.
He said, "I think it was a great day. This offense can be great. All the camaraderie and hard work — can’t help but be great. It’s a breath of fresh air.”

George Pickens Is Excited to Be With Cowboys
Back in May, the Cowboys made the surprising move and acquired Pickens. He gave them a massive upgrade at the WR2 spot behind CeeDee Lamb, and he's ready to get things rolling.
Over his three-year career with the Steelers, he caught passes from Kenny Pickett, Mitchell Trubisky, Mason Rudolph, Russell Wilson, and Justin Fields.
Dak Prescott is by far the best quarterback Pickens has played with, and his comments show that. During his time in Pittsburgh, the passing attack was very limited. That was due to the lack of talent and faith in that unit.
They were a run-heavy team and also failed to put Pickens in more positions to use his natural talent to make plays.
In 48 career games (40 starts), the Georgia product has snagged 174 catches (293 targets) for 2,841 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He also averages 16.3 yards per reception, showcasing his ability to stretch the field and reel in chunk plays.
He's a great complement to Lamb, who averages 12.8 yards per reception in his career and can chew up reps in the short and immediate area of the field.
Another reason why Pickens is hype comes with playing with a stud like Lamb. That will only create better opportunities for him in terms of coverage and will consistently line up against the CB2s for most teams.
Brian Schottenheimer couldn't help himself either when speaking about Pickens. He glowed when talking about the 24-year-old's ability to track the deep ball, but also plans to line him up all across the formation. The new coach believes the addition of Pickens will add another element of explosiveness to the offense, and certainly spoke to him about that behind closed doors.
Even though we are weeks away from the regular season starting, it sounds like Pickens and the Cowboys can't wait to get things going and are optimistic about the future.
