The Texas Rangers are one of the MLB's most interesting teams with the trade deadline approaching. This is a team clearly positioned to make a potential World Series push, and it's also an organization loaded with deep pockets and plenty of top-end prospects to include in trade packages.

It's no surprise that we've seen Texas inked to just about every big-name player on the market, and that means the sky's the limit for what kind of exciting things could happen at the deadline.

That also means that we can get bold with our trade deadline predictions without it being unrealistic. And with that in mind, here are my bold predictions for the Rangers at the trade deadline.

Rangers Trade Deadline Predictions

1. The Rangers Land Shohei Ohtani — And He's Not a Rental

It's not bold to predict that Shohei Ohtani will be traded to a contender, and it's not bold to predict he goes to the Rangers. Both of those things are well-established rumors at this point. But the general consensus is that Ohtani will be a rental wherever he goes.

Ohtani's on the final year of his contract, and as one of the most uniquely valuable players baseball has ever seen, many are speculating that it's an absolute no-brainer that he'll test free agency, no matter where he ends up in a trade this season.

But the Rangers are one of the few teams that could make a legitimate push to get an extension done. With money to spend and a roster that looks poised to contend for years, Texas could make a real push to lock up Ohtani.

The bright lights of New York aren't for everyone, and settling down in Texas could be a lot more appealing.
