3 Cowboys Draft Targets to Keep Dak Prescott Happy

Dak Prescott has proven himself to be an elite quarterback. To keep an elite quarterback happy, you need a solid offensive line that has his back, and playmakers.

2. A Hidden Gem at Running Back

The 2024 draft is becoming a quarterback-centric draft, with less attention being given to running back prospects. However, this draft does contain a gem prospect in Audric Estime. Buy stock now.

The Cowboys did recently acquire Royce Freeman on a one-year deal. However, the team has a chance to acquire a slept on running back. Estime carved out a great career at Notre Dame and was recognized as an AP Second Team All American. The power-back averaged 6.4 yards per carry and showed an insane ability to gain yards after contact. Estime finished his 2023 campaign with 18 touchdowns (3rd-most at the position) and over 1300 yards on 210 carries. For reference, Estime rushed for more yards on close to 50 less carries than Blake Corum.

It is clear that Estime can play and would be a great addition in a two-back scheme. He would wear down defenses that can then be carved up by Dak Prescott and the passing attack. I understand the risk in drafting too early, and that he is overshadowed by other running backs such as Trey Benson and Jonathon Brooks, but Estime should be taken on Day 2.
