3 Cowboys Most Likely to Be Traded Before Roster Cutdown Day
By Randy Gurzi
Arguably the best thing about the preseason is seeing so many young players rise to the occasion when given an opportunity to perform. For the Dallas Cowboys, there's no shortage of under-the-radar talent to root for.
Unfortunately, there are only 53 spots on the active roster. That means there will be some capable players being let go.
While the Cowboys will try and bring some of the better options back via the practice squad, they might not be able to get all of them through waivers. That's why there's a chance they could look to make a few trades and these three players stand out as potential targets for another franchise.
3. Racey McMath, WR
The Cowboys need to get things figured out with CeeDee Lamb or their passing attack is going to struggle this season. With him as WR1 and Brandin Cooks at WR2, they have a formidable group. There are even multiple players who can be their new WR3, with Jalen Tolbert in the lead.
While no one can do what Lamb can do, the Cowboys deserve praise for the depth they've built. Tolbert has had stiff competition from Jalen Brooks, Ryan Flournoy, Jalen Cropper, Kelvin Harmon, and now, Racey McMath.
On Saturday, McMath had 54 yards on three receptions. His 30-yard catch was the longest of the game for Dallas and there are now calls for him to make the 53-man roster.
It might be tough for him to do this given the other names mentioned. There's even KaVontae Turpin who is the primary return man but will also get time on the field as a receiver. That's why the Cowboys should strike while the iron is hot and see if a team in need of pass-catching help is interested in McMath.
