They're too good to cut, but not good enough to keep.

3. Peyton Hendershot

Tight end is one of the most crowded spots on Dallas' depth chart, and some moves will need to be made coming with currently four TEs in tow. Since Jake Ferguson is entrenched as TE1 and rookie Luke Schoonmaker is set to have a role after being a second-round pick, it makes sense to gauge potential interest in Peyton Hendershot.

Though Hendershot went undrafted and Ferguson was selected by the team in the fourth round last year, both had similar first years. Hendershot hauled in 11 of his 16 targets for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding another score on the ground. Meanwhile, Ferguson grabbed 19 of 22 targets for 174 yards and 2 TDs.

Hendershot performing similarly to one of the best prospects at the position shows he can hang in this league. He also played a significant role on Dallas' special teams unit, giving him multiple ways to make an impact.

He should have slight trade value, which makes him a better candidate to be moved than the unproven Sean McKeon behind him. Stashing away Hendershot as an overqualified TE3 would be overly greedy for the Cowboys, who could use that roster spot on more important depth, so it's worth seeing if a trade could clear up this positional logjam.
