3 Cowboys on the Practice Squad Who Will Get Promoted in 2023

These guys didn't make the initial 53-man roster, but that doesn't mean they won't get promoted to the active roster in 2023.

3. C.J. Goodwin

It's surprising C.J. Goodwin hasn't already been called up like long snapper Trent Sieg was — putting either guy on the practice squad at all seemed like an exercise in creative roster management around the cutdown.

But even though it hasn't happened yet, you've gotta think Goodwin is going to be back up for almost every (if not every) game this season.

Goodwin has been a special teams ace in Dallas for each of the last four seasons, playing at least two thirds of the team’s special teams snap each time.

He hasn't played a single defensive snap since 2020, so his designation as a cornerback is almost a formality, because his real roster position is as a special teamer.

Goodwin is the only one of the three Cowboys that played 300-plus special teams snaps to still be in Dallas in 2023, and I just don't see a way the guy who has played in every Cowboys regular season game in the last four years isn't back on the active roster now.
