3 Cowboys Trade Targets to Watch in Training Camp

The Dallas Cowboys need to keep an eye on these three players during training camp and the preseason since they could become available.

The Dallas Cowboys are about to head to Oxnard, CA to begin their 2024 training camp. They enter the season as defending NFC East Champions and hope to repeat — but that won't be an easy task. The East hasn't had a repeat winner since the Philadelphia Eagles won it four times in a row from 2011 through 2004. It will be even more difficult after Dallas had a forgettable offseason.

Despite claims from owner Jerry Jones that the franchise was "all-in," the Cowboys made no noise in free agency with Eric Kendricks being their lone free-agent addition of note. They not only remained on the sidelines when it came to signing free agents, but they also lost several — including two starters on the offensive line.

Dallas still has a lot of star power and that could be enough to contend in their division. But they should keep an eye on a few role players who might be falling down the depth chart.

3. Noah Brown, WR, Houston Texans

A familiar face could be on the trading block soon.

Noah Brown went from a seventh-round pick in 2017 to a trusted WR3 in Dallas by 2022. Brown, who kept himself on the roster for years by proving to be an excellent blocker, hauled in 43 receptions for 555 yards and three touchdowns in his final season with the Cowboys.

He signed with the Houston Texans the following offseason and continued to grow as a player. In 10 games, Brown had 33 receptions for 537 yards (an average of 17.2 yards per catch) with two touchdowns. He re-signed this year but the depth chart is loaded at wideout in Houston.

Brown is behind Stefan Diggs, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell. While those three have the top jobs locked down, nothing is promised beyond that either with John Metchie II, Robert Woods, and Ben Skowronek all on the same roster.

Unless Brown stands out as a superior option, he could be a potential trade target for the receiver-needy Cowboys.
