These Cowboys need strong showings in Saturday's preseason finale against the Raiders if they hope to crack the 53-man roster.

3. Neville Gallimore, DT

Neville Gallimore is someone in dire need of a strong showing in the preseason finale.

The former 2020 third-rounder has seen his role on the defensive line diminish over the last three seasons, playing a career-low 37% of defensive snaps last season. The coaching staff also began using him more in a special teams role, highlighted by 47 snaps in those situations compared to just 3 in his first two campaigns.

While Gallimore has shown flashes of brilliance, he became expendable when Dallas drafted Mazi Smith 26th overall back in April. The good news for the veteran is that Smith struggled in his preseason debut, meaning the rookie's role isn't as secure as it once was.

In other words, Gallimore needs a statement-like performance to prove that he still could factor into the Cowboys' future plans. He must show the coaching staff that he's, at the very least, a reliable backup who can hold down the fort until Smith is ready for an expanded role.

As long as Gallimore doesn't finish with a nothing-burger this weekend, he'll be back on Dallas' roster for at least one more season.
