1. Marqkuese Bell, LB/S

The Cowboys were so thin at linebacker in 2023 that Dan Quinn moved Markquese Bell from safety to a hybrid linebacker role. Bell was excellent in this role, finishing the season with 94 tackles while proving to be excellent in coverage. The problem was that he left them without much power in the run game.

Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers said as much after their playoff win, and it was evident with the way Aaron Jones ran all over the defense.

With Mike Zimmer replacing Quinn, the Cowboys are expecting to go with larger defensive players. This should include linebackers as they'll have DeMarvion Overshown back after he missed his rookie campaign due to injury. They also signed Eric Kendricks, who worked with Zimmer in Minnesota. Dallas should also look to add more linebackers in the draft.

That means Bell could be in line to move back to safety. While there is an opening there following the exit of Jayron Kearse, the Cowboys have several options. Juanyeh Thomas has done well when he's been on the field and Israel Mukuamu offers size (6-foot-4, 205 pounds) and can play in the slot.

Due to their depth at the position, Dallas might be willing to see if another team would like to add Bell in exchange for a Day 3 selection.
