3. Eno Benjamin

Eno Benjamin is the choice if the Cowboys prefer a smaller name that could still tribute. He was a true bellcow in college at Arizona State and fared well in limited action with the Cardinals before bouncing around the NFL over the last couple of seasons.

In 2022 with Arizona, Benjamin averaged 4.3 yards per carry and 7.7 cards per reception while serving a role on special teams as well. He's the kind of player who could help a team even if he doesn't crack the running back rotation, offering him additional value that someone like Hunt or Akers wouldn't provide.

He's a journeyman former seventh-round pick, so expectations wouldn't be high. Imagine him as someone similar to Dowdle or Vaughn. You don't expect much in isolation, but three quarters are closer to a dollar than one.

He amassed 1,905 yards from scrimmage with 18 TDs in his junior year at college, illustrating the impact he's capable of. Benjamin would give Dowdle and Vaughn competition at the least, and bringing him in for a workout thus makes sense.

If the Cowboys are serious about competing, they need to show it with their actions. This offseason has been a critics' delight with limited roster upgrades and more off-field storylines than on-field ones. Smart decisions until the end of training camp could make or break this season, so Dallas needs to stay active or risk another lost season.
