The Dallas Mavericks are going into the 2024-25 season looking to get over the hump. Even though they fell to the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals, the future is still very bright in Dallas.

They have two superstars in Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving but they made some quality moves around their talented duo.

The Mavs added Quentin Grimes, Naji Marshall, and Klay Thompson this offseason to bolster the supporting cast. That was a wise decision after their role players didn't step up the way they needed in the Finals.

Finding ways to add quality role players around Doncic and Irving can be a difficult task as both players are slated to make $40 million-plus next season.

After giving Thompson a three-year, $50 million deal, the Mavs now have six players making at least $10 million for the 2024-25 season.

They now need to tap into the veteran minimum market of free agency. Below we'll discuss three players who they should add for the minimum.

1. Davis Bertans

This offseason, the Mavericks have made sure to add players who can play off-ball and have the ability to space the floor. They should keep that going and look to add David Bertans.

He doesn't provide much defensively or as a rebounder but still has a quick release from the perimeter. Playing with two shot creators in Doncic and Irving makes things easier for others, especially shooters as defenders typically collapse on them.

With that being a trend, having a shooter like Bertans could provide a boost. In his career, he averages 7.7 points and shoots 39.6% from beyond the arc in 18 minutes of action.
