2. Week 9 @ Atlanta Falcons,12 P.M., CT

The Atlanta Falcons have plenty of electric and dynamic playmakers on offense but they were held back by abysmal QB play. That should change in 2024 after they signed Kirk Cousins to a massive deal.

The Falcons should be vastly improved so this will be a tough matchup on the road for the Cowboys. Regardless, the Cowboys have the better QB and defense so they should come away with the win.

All conference matchups hold more weight, especially since these two teams will be fighting for the playoffs in 2024.

The Cowboys lead the all-time series 19-11, including three straight wins over the Falcons. This game also comes in between a tough stretch of games that has the Cowboys playing the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8 and the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10.

The Cowboys can't afford to lose this matchup, as it's the easiest game in these three weeks. Every win within the NFC will be major next season.

3. Week 10 vs. Philadelphia Eagles, 3:25 P.M., CST

The rivalry between the Eagles and the Cowboys is one of the most intense ones in the NFL. Either one of these teams has won the NFC East in seven of the past eight years.

Again, it's expected that Dallas or Philadelphia will be crowned the division winner in 2024. When the Eagles come down to Jerry's World, the Cowboys must defend their home turf and beat the Eagles.

The contests against the Eagles will be the most critical matchups on the slate for the Cowboys. If they want to be taken as serious contenders in the NFC, they must take care of business against one of the league's most talented teams.

In 2023, Dallas defeated the Eagles 33-13 at home and they will need a similar outcome again. The margin for error is very small against Philly, which adds to the intensity of each battle.

A loss here would put even more pressure on the Week 17 game against the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

To be the top team in the NFC East, the Cowboys must defeat the only other legitimate threat.
