3. Justin Pugh
Dallas' offensive line has been a hot topic this offseason — especially when it comes to right guard Zack Martin's holdout. Considering that Jerry Jones is unwilling to splurge on the elite offensive lineman, taking a look at a guard like Justin Pugh is necessary.
Pugh is a well-respected guard who's played 120 games (119 starts) over 10 seasons with the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals. He tore his ACL in Week 6 of the 2022 campaign but is expected to make a full recovery and is dead-set on proving that his career is far from over.
After Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken reported that OL Matt Farniok hasn't looked great at the guard position in training camp, the need for another reliable guard is even more evident.
Cowboys OL Matt Farniok has had a mixed training camp, including some tough moments when aligned at guard. He is expected to focus more at center, his natural position, moving forward. More chances for Brock Hoffman at right guard as Zack Martin holdout continues.

Pugh has made a career of being a quarterback's best friend. He's given up just 2 sacks over the previous three campaigns combined (2,023 snaps) while only taking 2 penalties in the last two years (1,065 snaps).
The 32-year-old veteran also brings much-needed versatility to the table. While Pugh has predominantly played in the left guard spot, he also has experience playing on the right side as well as both tackle positions.
Signing Pugh to a one-year "prove yourself" deal not only forces the Cowboys' existing offensive lineman to step up in the preseason but also gives the team extra insurance if Martin's holdout continues.
Addressing any glaring needs is crucial if the Cowboys want to end their championship drought this year. Caesars Sportsbook currently gives them +1500 odds (No. 6) to Win Super Bowl LVIII ahead of Saturday's preseason contest.
