On Tuesday evening it was announced that Cowboys star receiver CeeDee Lamb will be holding out of training camp due to ongoing contract disputes with the front office this offseason. While it is not a likely scenario Lamb's decision to hold out could cause the Cowboys to decide to trade Lamb especially due to how high his stock is at the moment.

Lamb is coming off of the best season of his young career, gaining over 1,700 yards along with 12 touchdowns. He also managed to break the Cowboys record for receptions and receiving yards in a single season. Due to Lamb emerging as one of the most dominant receivers in the league, many teams would love the opportunity to have him as the focal point of their offense for years to come, no matter how much they had to pay him.

Here are three teams that could come calling about a trade for Lamb if Jerry Jones refuses to pay his superstar.

3. Cleveland Browns

Over the past couple of seasons, the Cleveland Browns have gone from being the perpetual laughingstock of the NFL to developing one of the most proficient offenses in the AFC. While the Browns have made extraordinary improvements to their roster, they still seem to be a step away from being legitimate contenders in the AFC. Lamb Could be the person to get them over the hump.

Former Cowboy Amari Cooper is currently the Browns' No.1 receiver and while the future Hall of Famer remains one of the most consistently effective receivers in the league, he is simply not getting any younger and could benefit from having a young receiver like Lamb sharing the field with him.

With one of the most solid defenses in the AFC and several offensive weapons on the roster already including Nick Chubb and Jerry Jeudy, Lamb could be the final piece of the puzzle to make the Browns legitimate contenders in the AFC for years to come.

2. New England Patriots

The last star receiver that the New England Patriots had on their roster was Antonio Brown back in 2019, and we all know how that turned out. The Patriots are entering a new era with Bill Belichick no longer a part of the organization for the first time since the 90s and Lamb would be a great candidate to establish the Patriots in the new post-Belichick era.

The Patriots appear to be lacking any dynamic playmakers on their roster and have yet to announce who will be starting quarterback going into the season. Due to current uncertainties of the Patriots offense Lamb could  be the perfect player to help legitimize the Patriots offense and get the franchise back on their feet.

In return, due to having several poor seasons the  Patriots have a lot of draft capital that they can offer the Cowboys that would help ease the blow of the Cowboys losing their best player.

1. Los Angeles Chargers

On paper, the Chargers have appeared to have one of the most effective offenses in the league over the past several years, but they have had little to no success in the playoffs and seem far from becoming contenders in a challenging AFC conference.

Similar to the Browns, the Chargers have several offensive weapons, highlighted by Justin Herber.

Losing both Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler this offseason, the Chargers need a new receiver to lead the offense, and Lamb could serve as the answer.

As painful as it would be to see Lamb leave Dallas, it would be interesting to see how Lamb would fit into the Chargers offense and whether or not he could help turn a promising team into contenders.

As mentioned earlier, the odds of the Cowboys deciding to trade Lamb are extraordinarily low. If the Cowboys do decide to trade Lamb, however, it could be one of many big missteps during Jerry Jones' tenure. We have not seen a player to level of Lambs talent for years now and it would be a shame to let a player like Lamb walk out the door. It would be especially troubling due to Dak's championship window potentially closing and the team's chances of winning a Super Bowl seeming to grow slimmer each season.
